Folk dance camp at the Kolo Cultural Center in Mórahalom

The youth folk dance camp of Deszk's Bánát and Budakalász's Ruzmarin has begun at the Kolo Cultural Center in Mórahalom, organized by the Ruzmarin Serbian Heritage Cultural Association.

The cooperation between the youth groups of the „Bánát” Serbian Cultural Public Benefit Association of Deszk and the Ruzmarin Serbian Heritage Cultural Association of Budakalász began in 2017 at a dance camp in Battonya. Since then, they have learned several choreographies together, which they have successfully performed on stage. The „Bánát” association has been operating for 76 years, while Ruzmarin celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The leaders of the youth groups are Péter Dunai and Zorica Kosznovszki, siblings. Their goal is to pass on traditions and strengthen the bond among the younger members of the Serbian community, which is not hindered by the 200 km distance.

This camp in Mórahalom provides an opportunity for young people to deepen friendships and learn and practice new choreographies, thereby laying the foundation for presenting joint productions to a wide audience both domestically and internationally.

The closing event of the folk dance camp

will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024,

at 6 PM at the „Kolo” Serbian Cultural Center,

where interested individuals are warmly invited.

The camp's closing performance will be followed by a dance house, to which everyone is also warmly invited.
